Arts Walk is on First Friday this month.

Get ready for Arts Walk XXXVII

Thanks to the support of downtown businesses and the talents of hundreds of artists, downtown Olympia rolls out the red carpet for Arts Walk on Friday, October 3, from 5-10pm!

Just a reminder that this is the first event where the closed streets at 5th and Washington will be 100% acoustic! This means no electricity for outside performances, creating more intimate pockets of music rather than a wall of sound.

This fall’s event also marks the 20th Anniversary of the Olympia Arts Commission, major sponsor of the event. If you have a moment, drop by the Washington Center for the Performing Arts from 4-5pm to celebrate not only their Anniversary but also the efforts of 19 other Arts Organizations who have nurtured the arts in our community for 20 years or more!

We look forward to seeing you at Arts Walk!

Thanks also to Art House Designs, Capitol City Press, Comcast, Heritage Bank and Mixx 96fm for their support of this City organized event.

For more information, please contact Erin Conine, Arts & Events Program Specialist, Olympia Parks, Arts & Recreation at 570-5858.

Join Us This July On The First THURSDAY Rather Than Friday!

We don't want to steal you away from your BBQ on the 4th, so we decided to move it up a day.
So, join is on Thursday evening for some cool downtown evening shopping and dining.

• einmaleins and Chris Hyde invite you to discover the amazing world of knives.
Pocket Knives we’ve had since we were Kids, Kitchen Knives we care about since the Food Network and we might even be able to distinguish between a Santuko and a Chefs Knife.
But, what is a Mushroom Knife? Or what are the benefits of carbon steel over stainless…?
Get answers to this and experience more at einmaleins.
As usual we will provide the obligatory refreshments and will have some band-aids ready - just in case.

It's time again for First Friday in Downtown.

Just a week after Arts Walk, we barely cured the post-arts-walk-hang-over, and we're already preparing the next party in town.

Everyday Olympia has the details on participating locations.

Featured at einmaleins will be Hatched Egg'rs
This one is for the families. (Read: Please bring your Kids!!)
You gotta come and see Scott Anderson’s “Stuff for Kid’s Rooms”.
It’s fantastic and now available at einmaleins.

Of course, the usual refreshments and fun will be provided.

See ya in Downtown.

A friendly gnome by the name of Olim just “walked in” to visit us at einmaleins.

He’s from Gnomediaries.com and comes with a special message about climate change and how you can do your part in making sure this planet stays as beautiful as it was intended to be!

Come and stop by tomorrow during First Friday and say Hi to him!

And visit www.everydayolympia.com for more info.

What a great night we had.

After we closed shop at einmaleins, we walked around a bit, to take in the atmosphere downtown.

It was really awesome!

Considering everything that we should be thinking about the event, downtown and safety, the economy, Bush and Riots and Karma and everything in between. It was cool to meet new people, friendly people. People being excited about being out in downtown on a Friday night.

The Black Front Gallery had a great show and their place was humming.

Many stores that I hadn't connected with in regards of First Friday were open, their stores lit up new shop owners were gracious hosts and showed us their space and welcomed us in.

Ahhh,

it's a good time to be in Downtown Olympia!
