the seventh annual
FRO-FRO-A-GO-GO
is happening the day after halloween, aka dia de los muertos aka saturday november first. at THE MIDNIGHT SUN.
the bands are:
Funerot
King Mob
A Million Years Ago
Mean Beanz
The Nextdoor Neighbors
Razz M'Tazz
The Pasties (starting the show at 6pm)

FRO-FRO-A-GO-GO also features new fro t-shirts and stickers, yummy treats, prizes for awesome costumes, scary stories by Bridget Irish and DJ 7eight and DJ foxdye spinning records and closing out the night.

$5-$10 sliding scale. show starts at 6pm. all-ages. all-access.
The Midnight Sun is in downtown Olympia at 113 N. Columbia Street (on Columbia between 4th and State)

KURT COBAIN MEMORIAL COMMITTEE PRESENTS LOUNGE ACTS 2008 FEATURING HARVEY DANGER and SCHOOLYARD HEROES, with Black Top Demon and Gebular

The Kurt Cobain Memorial Committee is announcing its second annual benefit concert, Lounge Acts, scheduled for 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, at the historic 7th Street Theatre in Hoquiam, Wash. The show is open to all ages. All proceeds go toward the committee’s goal to build a youth center in Cobain’s honor in his hometown of Aberdeen, Wash.

Each band will perform at least one Nirvana cover.

A guitar played by Kurt in junior high school will also be given away.

Tickets are $20 and available at www.kurtcobainmemorial.org, at Rosevear's Music in Aberdeen or at the door beginning at 4 p.m., day of.

Songs of Social Significance ~ A concert to save our isthmus!
A birthday concert for a cause!

With David Rovics and Paris McClusky

David Rovics, called "the musical version of Democracy Now!" by Amy Goodman, is playing his wonderful music in Olympia to raise awareness about the proposed rezoning of the isthmus . The concert is free for all, but any donations you care to give will go to Olympia SDS and the Olympia Street Medics Collective.

Word on the street is that there is a hot line-up tonight at Traditions, including Dirk Powell on fiddle, banjo, and vocals, Riley Baugus banjo and vocals, Brett Ratliff banjo, guitar, and vocals, Jesse Wells fiddle and vocals, Martha Scanlan guitar and vocals, and Patrick Lind washtub bass. Tickets are $18. Get 'em while they're hot!

I checked -- it is at 8:00 pm.
