Out of the way

But pretty good food.  Hopefully they get back on their feet soon.  And, did tracker pick this up?  No, it did not.  Damn it!

I have a feeling that they

I have a feeling that they might not get back on their feet soon. One good thing is that they didn't own the building or the property, so they don't have to deal with that. I'm not sure the insurance company will cover mudslides. If flood or mudslide is not written into their policy, the insurance company may back out and leave them high and dry. Or low and wet.

alright

I just have to say it: this seems needlessly negative. It seems kind've like kicking dirt on their mudslide.

Good

Coming back from shooting one day, my friend pointed the Ranch House out to me, and we decided to eat there next time we went shooting...  I was salivating at the thought of trying it out.  I hope they can get back on their feet, it has got to suck to have a business wiped out like that.

I'm not trying to be negative,

I'm just trying to be realistic. Bread and Roses' insurance company(Travelers) is now dropping us because we had a fire and according to them we are too high risk. We now have to scramble to find insurance over the holidays as our policy expires the first of the year.

Look at what insurance companies did to Katrina survivors. I don't think I'm being unrealistic here, and I feel like it's OK to talk about. Perhaps by mentioning it here we can help them through it.

realism vs. pessimism vs. compassion

Believe me, I'm no friend of the Insurance *cough*scam*cough* Industry and I understand what you're saying. I guess I see a difference in saying something like "hey, if the insurance company lets them down we should try to organize a community response!" and "I have a feeling they might not get back on their feet soon."

And South Bay Dickerson's BBQ is going to close...

...to make way for the new city hall, presumably. I fear for the future of BBQ in this town!
