I think Jim had a good time, hopefully he returns for more discussion. His ever varying animated scroll now includes several Ha Ha Ha!s after mention of our city. I'm thinking this is a good sign.

He may like us, but I think

He may like us, but I think he's technically wrong about the image he ticked about you using being copyrighted. There is a reference to "some images copyrighted" on the front page, but neither the linking page nor the actual image reference any copyright.

But, I'm not one to tell Nazis which laws or traditions they should respect.

For everyone's enjoyment, the wikipedia reference on copyright. Enjoy.

Good points. I hadn't gotten past the initial "You did it too." phase in response to Jim.

The image has the copyright e

The image has the copyright embedded in the photoshop file information and I'm not going to explain it all to a bunch of stupid hippies. If you don't like cartman then get Comedy Central to sue. Yes we like you guys so much were coming back soon to do a major stealth protest and you won't have any time to get your communist allies together.

"The image has the cop

"The image has the copyright embedded in the photoshop file information" doesn't make any sense to me . Part of my job is dealing with actually copyrighted images, and we don't make people aware of a copyright by hiding it magically with photoshop. I would suggest just coming out and placing a warning on the linking page of your copyright.

Here is some information on copyrighing online works if you're interested.

Whenever someone makes a vali

Whenever someone makes a valid point to you, you just back into a corner and start pointing fingers at all of us "hippies", "communists" and "leftist scum."

I wouldn't say f-off, but

I wouldn't say f-off, but please, say something that actually refutes a point, rather than resorting to a logical fallacy. In this case I think its ad hominem.

(Rick, is there any way to edit meeples comment to remove the f-bomb? No offense, meeples, but I would like olyblog to remain somewhat child safe).

I'm not a communist, a lefty,

I'm not a communist, a lefty, or a Nazi. I'm just a person. A person who has chosen to live his life in love as opposed to fear. I even love you, for standing up and shouting your beliefs at the top of your lungs in the midst of sever and overwhelming opposition. We should all be so brave.

US Judge: Google infringed on copyright by posting thumbnail porn photos

Internet giant Google Inc. infringed copyright rules by posting thumbnail-size photos from other websites on its search results, a US judge said in a ruling issued.

Agence France-Presse

There's actually more to the story. Google makes money from their service, thus limiting their ability to display copyrighted material. OlyBlog isn't making a profit and, in a court, would probably be found to be within "fair use."

There is the issue of fair us

There is the issue of fair use, however.

One of the rights accorded to the owner of copyright is the right to reproduce or to authorize others to reproduce the work in copies or phonorecords. This right is subject to certain limitations found in sections 107 through 118 of the copyright act (title 17, U.S. Code). One of the more important limitations is the doctrine of “fair use.

I commented on fair use in my original response, but for some reason it wouldn't show up.
