"Lending a Hand to the Homeless w/ June Madrona, and Speakers from Real Change, Bread and Roses, and Out of The Woods!" Our 3 keynote speakers will include a former homeless veteran from Real Change Speaker's Bureau in Seattle; an expert (also of Real Change) on civil rights who will discuss Pedestrian Interference Ordinance which is specifically targeting and further oppressing the homeless community; and the head of a local shelter who will discuss the drastic need for more shelter and affordable housing for families with children, as well as the discrimination in the housing and job market. We will also feature entertainment from a local indie-rock band, June Madrona. |
