Initiative Petition Submitted
Submitted by Bert on Thu, 09/18/2008 - 4:37pm.The Olympia Capitol Park Foundation Initiative Petition was submitted to the City of Olympia with over 4,500 signatures today. More on that later.
Continued Testimony Tomorrow
Submitted by Bert on Sat, 09/20/2008 - 11:10am.I hope that at least one person raises the question of conflict of interest, whether there is a legal question or just the appearance of impropriety: the Council Members whose campaigns received support from Mr. Tri Vo, any interests associated with Triway Enterprises, or interests associated with the proposed zoning changes (or the proposed "Larida Passage" development) should be asked to answer about this appearance of rewarding campaign contributors.
$50,000 of City Money (which belongs to all the residents of Olympia) has been spent on this proposal, which will unarguably be of significant personal benefit to the developer.
Again I would urge those Members of the Council who have received campaign contributions from interests associated with the proposed zoning changes (and development) to abstain from voting on the matter.
We need a government of, by and for the people. We don't need a government of, by and for the developers.
