Ignorant Movie Review the first:  The Proposition

Response to title:
Is this sexual? an ethical look at Enron?  Despite denotation to the contrary, the word connotes seediness to me.

Response to streetside poster:  What the fuck, an Outback Western?  Nick Cave wrote this?  I'm biased already.  I can't wait to hear the soundtrack.

Response post-credits:  Violent.  I like the soundtrack.  Visually, the film is highly representational of the subject matter, nothing is clean.  Grittiness seems embedded within the frames themselves.  The acting is phenomenal.  I particularly feel this way in retrospect as I realize that there really was a paucity of lines.  On multiple occassions the dialogue exists as the silence within a camera shot and its context.  Hard editing cuts are like a decapitation.

Film Haiku:  Bloody brotherhood
                and nine days to justify
                    a desert sunset.

Rating:  4 out of 5 Oly Stubbies.
