This book offers technical advice about how to do things on OlyBlog. It's a collaborative project; if you've got questions you'd like answered, please email Thad Curtz. If you know how to do something that you think other people might like to do, feel free to add a page about that to this book.

If you think you can improve an advice page that's already been written, please feel free to add your comments and advice. Please don't just change what somebody else has said, at least not for now; let's see how just adding comments, suggestions and corrections works for a while.

Sorry to be misleading; this "book" is just the section of OlyBlog that you're already looking at. On the blog, "Books" are posts set up so other people are supposed to be able to add entries to the section, edit what's there, move things around, etc. (So far, nobody's tried doing those collaborative things, so I don't even know if they actually can.) I plan to keep adding posts about how to do things (especially if anybody sends me any notes about other things they'd like to know how to do.)

Stolen bikes reported

Several stolen bike reports have been filed from the Eastside Neighborhood and the Northeast Neighborhood in the past 2 months. Some bikes have been taken as the owner stepped inside for a only a minute, which suggests that eyes are constantly watching. Report all incidents to the OPD and your neighborhood association officers. It also doesn't hurt to talk with neighbors. Many times people think they are the only victim, to find out later they were part of a string of incidents by the same perps. Pass on as much info as possible. Oh, and...... SEMPER VIGALANTE!

As I approach my 56th birthday, new endeavours seem increasingly important. So...here is my first attempt at online communicating. Forgive my naivete about the topic. I own Bella Boutique in downtown Olympia. I moved here (the first time) in 1955. My father was stationed at Fort Lewis.I moved here again in 1964 (Ft. Lewis again).I remember lots of things about the "old" Olympia and I have a great interest in the "new" Olympia. I moved to Seattle to go to the University of Washington, graduated, went to Australia to teach and deliberately moved back to Olympia. I look forward to engaging in conversation about our great town.

The first thing on this page should be "HOW TO MAKE A NEW POST TO OLYBLOG" NOT how to link something to a post, not how to comment to an existing post, but how to make a new post.

Can one delete their own posts?

Password Reset Problems

I've tried a number of times to reset the password for the account I set up for the union local I'm a member of. Every time it tells me that it sent a new password to our email account, but we never get it on our end. When trying to make a new account using our email address olyblog refuses to let us do so, saying we are already in the system. Looking around I couldn't figure out who the current administrator of olyblog is, so if someone could get in contact with me about manually resetting the password or simply deleting the account so we can start over again, that would be great.
