A new urban life form has recently come to my attention. The leaves of Fall are clogging up the roof gutters of my house, leaving them constantly filled with water during this exceptionally wet season. Recently I noticed some crows and seagulls picking at "things" in my gutters in a very agitated way. So I decided to finally go up and unclog the gutters. As the now-fetid rainwater cascaded down the spout as I removed the rotten leaves, I noticed something odd on the ground. Little silver flopping fish had been pulled down. They were about an inch long and had a surprised expression-- but not half as surprised as me! So check those gutters, fellow rain dwellers.

Our gutters will be one of the first places for nature to reestablish itself...trees will sprout from our rooves. I want to travel into the future so I can see it!
