[via email] Hello Rick: I was raised in Olympia and graduated from the high school (OHS) which was on Capitol Way in 1955. I had a few notes that you may be interested in. •I didn't see any notes on Hewitt Lake and where it's name came from. •The Brassfield Road next to Hewitt Lake was named after my father, Morgan Brassfield, who donated the land for the original road extension. •Attached is a pic of the East Olympia Store (next to the railroad tracks) as it was in about 1948. It's a mess now. I was raised in this building, moving to Hewitt Lake in 1951. Thanks, John Brassfield ![]()
