I am tired of spending my time building up a community resource only to constantly waste my time wading through arguments which negate my work. I am no longer going to do this.

I move to suspend comments for Jeff Brigham, OlyDowntowner, Norm & JT for the duration of 10 original hyper-local news stories. After a person writes 10 (judged by the docents on content) then that person gets comments re-enabled. I also move that this penalty be enforceable for any blogger in the future who continuously spends more time engaging in comment arguments than producting hyper-local content.

I hear so much talk about people taking personal responsibility so I think it's time to demand it of some of our more vocal Comments participants.

The Defense starts for Briana Waters trial on Monday, February 25, at 9am. Federal Court House, 1717 Pacific Ave, Tacoma, WA.

The Defense for Briana Waters will start on February 26 and is expected to last a week. There is a little left on the cross examination of Agent Halla and then the prosecution will rest. Now we can hear Briana's Defense!

Court begins at 9am on Monday, February 26 at 1717 Pacific Ave, Tacoma, WA. There is housing available for people who come and need a place to stay. Now is the time to show our support.

This is a call to come support Briana Waters this week! This will be a critical week, and probably the last, and there needs to be as much support as possible in the court room. Please dress appropriate for the court. This is not the time for aesthetics, but looking as nice as you possibly can. Briana's life is on the line. Please come support and bear witness to this time.

Thanks,

Resisting the War Abroad, Resisting the War at Home
A Night of Resistance and Insurgency

Friday March 7th, The Evergreen State College
Lecture hall 1

Speaker panel and movie at 6 pm

Folk starts at 8 PM with headliner DAVID ROVICS, AND DANNY KELLY WITH MARK ECKERT.

Join us for an evening of musical acoustic insurgency with David Rovics, Danny Kelly and Mark Eckert.

This will be a benefit for Carlos Arredondo who made national news after hearing that his twenty-year-old son Marine Lance Corporal Alexander Arredondo was killed in Iraq. In his distraughtness after learning of his son’s death, Carlos lit himself on fire, but has since recovered from his wounds and become an anti-war activist and speaker. Carlos is a member of Gold Star Families for Peace along with Cindy Sheehan. An interview with Carlos by Amy Goodman is located here: http://www.democracynow.org/2007/3/13/the_endless_war_memorial_father_of

David Rovics has been called the musical voice of the progressive movement in the US. Amy Goodman has called him “the musical version of Democracy Now! He has shared the stage regularly with leading intellectuals (Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn), activists (Medea Benjamin, Ralph Nader), politicians (Dennis Kucinich, George Galloway), musicians (Billy Bragg, the Indigo Girls), and celebrities (Martin Sheen, Susan Sarandon). He has performed at dozens of massive rallies throughout North America and Europe and at thousands of conferences, college campuses and folk clubs throughout the world. Check out www.Davidrovics.com

It seems that, last Thursday afternoon, I experienced a minor stroke (TIA) while at work.  Either that episode or a subsequent TIA has limited the usage of my left hand.  I spent the weekend at St. Pete's.

Part of my rehab will be typing, but it is very difficult as I don't have sensation in my left hand, thus I miss a lot of keys and have to correct typos.  I'll try to communicate and use Olyblog as a therapeutic aid, but my posts will be short.

I was just reading Onry's blog on not shutting down posts.  I have to support her 100% on this.  Knowing right now how difficult it it for me to communicate my thoughts, the need to be brief and to the point could be miscontrued by some as being "vitolic", especially if there is some emotion on what is being said.

Please be patient with me as I work my way though this challenge.  Most of my cognative thinking is OK, but I do get a bit confused a times and might come out on blog sounding different than what I intend.

I'll stay in touch as I can.

So, I went and ordered a new rear sight for my Flattop AR and had to do a little bit of sighting in and put the rifle though it's paces. The following are pictures of myself and a friend doing this.

Given all of the argumentative topics, and topics about guns that seem....removed, I decided a thread talking about what I've been up to seemed appropriate. Hopefully some will enjoy this.

These are pictures of firearms. Don't look if you are offended by such.......you have been warned.

Paper-target Work

Different angle

My Friend, showing me how it's done

And then presenting some of the finer points of pistol marksmanship

Good times were had by all! Plus the new rear sight worked great.
